Ohana…
It means family in Hawaiian. The movie “Lilo and Stitch” made the phrase, “Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten.” Today and tomorrow are really big days in my family.
Today, I am covering my best friend and her husband in prayer. They are awaiting news that will drastically change their lives, good or bad. My best friend is has been there for me in everything since we met in college. I remember meeting her for the first time at a colorguard tryouts for the UAB’s Guard of Gold. We had a big circle in the middle of the floor to introduce ourselves. She mentioned wanting a big family, adopting, and being a social worker. I said I wanted a big family, adopting and my parents do foster care. Needless to say, we clicked and that was the start of a great friendship. So covering my Megan and her Trent in prayers today! One of my favorite pictures of Megan on the day her hubby came home from deployment.

Tomorrow, we will “celebrating” be the 3rd anniversary of Diva going home to her family. As a foster sister, I am in the unique position to be a big sister and another mother to children who need to be smothered in love and hope. There are children who come just for a weekend and then those that stay for years. Diva was one of those that got to stay for 3 ½ years. She is my “favorite” in that, by raising her from such a young age, she was the most like me. I honestly can tell how much a child’s environment has to do with their behavior and “raising”. I miss her bunches but I hope she is still thriving as a Diva! Her grandparents seemed like great Christian people and I can only hope she is growing like a weed! Here are some pictures of our last trip (we didn't know it at the time) and her first trip to the Beach.

She was not sure about the water! |

She was fine with the water as long as I held her. |

One of my absolute favorite from the entire weekend. |
